Qi gong is a moving meditation that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It integrates posture, breath, intention and movement for an overall holistic benefit to body, mind and spirit. It’s been dubbed by some as Chinese yoga. One of the greatest parts: it’s accessible to everyone.

Qi gong translates to cultivating energy skillfully and has roots in Chinese medicine and martial arts. There are different forms, many from the Daoist tradition.
Qi Gong is based on the same principle as acupuncture, that there is qi flowing throughout our bodies. We become unwell when that flow is blocked or the qi is out of balance, too much or too little. Qi gong helps promote the healthy flow of qi and keep us balanced.
Other health benefits include loosening up tendons and muscles. Helping with relaxation and sleep, Moving us from sympathetic to parasympathetic mode, or from flight or fight to rest and digest. It’s also excellent for balance and flexibility. Research has shown qi gong to help with hypertension, the immune system, digestion and anxiety.
